Rosine Kabano Spring TX Obituary, Death: The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a deadly crash that claimed the lives of a mother and her teenage son Monday evening along Interstate 45 near Madisonville.

According to preliminary reports, 44-year-old Rosine Kabano of Spring was driving southbound just south of Highway 21 when her vehicle changed lanes and collided with a pickup truck towing a utility trailer. The impact of the crash led to severe consequences for those inside Kabano’s vehicle.

Victims Identified as Mother and Son

Authorities confirmed that Kabano’s 16-year-old son, who was seated in the back of the vehicle, died at the scene. Due to agency policy, officials have not released his name because he was a minor.

Kabano was airlifted from the crash site to St. Joseph Health in Bryan for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The tragic loss of both mother and son has left their community in mourning.

Investigation Underway, Others Unharmed

Troopers said the driver of the pickup truck and a passenger traveling in that vehicle were not injured in the crash. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision, including factors that may have contributed to the lane change and subsequent impact.

Officials have not indicated whether weather, road conditions, or other elements played a role. Authorities are urging drivers to remain cautious on busy highways as the investigation remains ongoing.
